Gone Gathering Lavender

It's harvest time on my lavender farm.
Harvesting is cutting off the lavender stems that have bloomed.
When you harvest, depends on how you want to use your lavender. If you want the buds to stay on the stem cut early when 1/4 of the stem has bloomed. If you want buds, then cut later when you see more of the stem in bloom, after drying, the buds will release easier.
Pruning should be done in the Fall or Spring.

Now, help me name this picture. Thanks!

Photos I've Taken on My Farm

I stayed up late one night editing some of the pictures I have taken on my farm.
I'm certainly not a photographer and feel funny using the word editing.
I was very pleased though with the outcome and happy that
I have captured some special moments here on the farm.
 Now the question is
Would you like them as cards or prints?
Tell me which ones you like and give me suggestions on how to use them.

Our 2nd Lavender Festival

We just completed our 2nd Lavender Festival with the help of our kids, grand kids and friends. More people discovered there is a Lavender Farm in southern Oregon and learned a little bit more about lavender. THANK YOU to all who came to our Lavender Festival!

Our season isn't over yet, it's now harvest time and I have a field of lavender to cut.
YOU can help me out by coming out to pick your own fresh bunches,
then I won't have to harvest as much!

I've Always Been a Farmgirl

There I am with Mom and Dad.
It was rural country living until I was 15.
I'm guessing I'm about 1 here.

The back of this photo says I'm 2.
 Don't you love that Studebaker?
